Breakfast with Hubs

I have been craving for the roti bakar in Bayan Lepas area. I couldn't make it on weekdays due to working and massive traffic jam. But weekend was not a good idea either cause hubs too lazy to come all the way here to eat breakfast. I've been dwelling with the idea for so long I don't know when it will come true. But thank god my prayer was answered this morning. This morning was the second time hubs and I had our breakfast together on a weekday morning. I've told him the idea last night and he's ok with it. So he came a lil earlier than usual to fetch me to work. You must be wondering why he has to come earlier, what more to fetch me. No, we are not married yet and No we are not leaving together.

Which coffee shop do I refer to? None other than the old famous coffee shop selling roti bakar in the morning and fish head noodle in the evening. It's situated along the highway opposite Phase1. The coffee shop will not be obvious as its land is slightly lower than the roads. Furthermore, with so many cars park in along the road and some in front of the shops, you'll have to be on the look out.

Here's a picture I crop from their website

"Joo Leong Cafe, is well known by Penangites for its servings of delicious breakfast at reasonable prices for over 50 years. Its famous toasted bread, wipped with butter and served together with half-boiled eggs are the favourites among its patrons."

And so the menu for my breakfast today is as follow:
1 Milo ice
2 half-boiled eggs
2 slices of toasted bread, wipped with butter
1 pack of nasi lemak

A very hearty breakfast with hubs. While he has the same menu, the only different was he opted for a hot Milo. Here's the breakfast we had and tapao-ed for friends, a total of RM19.60.

1 hot Milo
1 Milo ice
4 half-boiled eggs
12 roti bakar
5 pack of fried noodles
1 pack of nasi lemak

At the evening, patrons can enjoy their famous seafood porridge / noodles at Joo Leong Cafe. A wide variety of fresh seafood can be hand picked by patrons to cook their desired bowls of seafood porridge / noodles.

You have a choice of fish, prawns, "water frog", meatball, fishball, pig intestines, fish maw, jelly fish, squid, and many other seafood with I couldn't recall anymore. We had personally tried the seafood noodles quite a number of time. Each time we went home with a satisfied stomach. I think the price is reasonable, around RM10+ per bowl . I believe it can go up to RM20+ per bowl, depending on the 'ingredient' you choose but I'm not so sure bout the exact price. I have yet to pay for the meals we had there, thanks to hubs.

The Secret

Hubs have been talking bout financial freedom and abundance and many more terms that were aliens to me last time. Slowly but consistently, he drill all those motivation into my head. From there I've learn a lot....and still continue learning. As time goes by, I read his books, articles and attended seminars. I'm so thankful he has a mind of his own, which so many people don't have. Truthfully, he's been striving real hard since his school life to support his family. The life he went thru has make him the man he is today....a strong, independent, charismatic and gorgeous guy. Things he lacked of, he'll compensate in something else and do it superbly.

I used to be a small girl before I met him. It's been planted in my thinking that husband should bear the whole responsibility of household, that study hard to get good result, then get a good pay job, money is hard-earned, save for the rainy days......all these are bullshit! These are the thinking of the poor. Don't you ever wonder why the rich gets richers and the poor remains poor if not gets poorer? Do you have the feel that it's unfair we work so hard but still living in "enough for the day" style? Pardon them if they teaches us the wrong thing, cause they themselve don't know the correct method. If they had knew, they would belong in the 5% that's earning 96% of the universe income (do I get this right?). Anyway, hubs's friend introduced this book to him, The Secret from Rhonda Byrne. There is also a DVD on the show available in market or you can view the 1st 20 minutes on YouTube. You can even get the info from this website.

I'm training my mind to work the way I want lately. I'll create a vision board with hubs later. We already bought a metal board (those white board alike metal). Initially I planned to put some of our bit and pieces from our wedding, our to do list and message to each other and hang it in our future bedroom. But after learning The Secret, we are going to create something more like a vision board. All our goals and targets will be paste on this board. And it's not going to wait till we have our future room renovated. This will start within this few days. Previously, we envision ourself to own a vacation home in Maldives. It's not a normal home but one that has sea below it. I've even prepared in virtually in print artist.

The teachers of The Secret wrote that your minds attract like and if you imagine real hard, want them real hard, your wish will be answered by universe. I'm not going to doubt this as we really want our dream to come true.
"THOUGHTS become FACTS"
I send it over to hubs just a few minutes ago (he's working in another company) and he loves it very much. He even saved it as his wallpaper. So together we are going to have our dream comes true.

Have you seen other motivational resources that has inspired you and would like to share?

My wish

My wish to have this wedding video clip at my wedding.......

Tell me who would not want to capture her wedding day in videos or photos and I'll have to show this
video clip to her/him. Not all but the one posted on June 8th 2007. So far this has been my #1 favorite video in my list and nothing goes from #2 - #5. This is the video I've dream all this while and the moment I saw this from Weddingbee's website, I was totally mesmerized. The whole scene was like a fairytale, movie style......no one can beat this kinda video recording. I admit this is due to several professional videographers capturing from different angle to be able to produce this perfect piece. Nevertheless, extra hours on tremendous editing really deserve the credits. They wanted to enter this video clip into an international competition for wedding videographers.

I was really moved to tears. She's so beautiful and he's so gorgeous. I don't even know them but I felt it deep in my heart. We used to think that there's no necessity in getting a videographer but after seeing this video clip, I just cried out loud I want one....not anyone but one that could do this magic! Sadly, we'll have to do without it. The reasons, 1. we don't have that budget to accommodate this kind of pro videographer, 2. there's none locally that can produce even 80% of what I saw. I was impatient in showing them to hubs. He agreed that this is a magnificent piece. I sighed and uttered, "I'm getting more unachievable dreams". Little did I know, he was hurt a lil. He thought he already did all his best to bring my wedding dreams come true, getting involved in every single things and be there with me all the time but I still complaint that I have unachievable dreams. After a lil pestering only did it come to my mind that he took it the wrong way. Sorry, hubs. I didn't mean that.....

Now, I'm wishing if someone would approach me to do this type of video clip on my wedding with a price of less than RM1k. I'll be praying everyday for my dream to come true.....pls pray with me,k! Thanks!

Comments

I realize of all the blogs, only two I complaint a lil or rather give my opinion. And those are the one that have comments. I don't know whether it was coincidence or someone is directly pin pointing on me. Hello! This is MY blog and I can freely express my view and thought. But I'm still OK with the comments. However I really loathe those that didn't even care to leave their name after commenting (or should I say don't dare?).

On the other hand, I should feel happy that someone is actually reading my blog. Previously I still thought my blog is not interesting and will not catch attention. Someone prove me wrong. I'll welcome any comments, provided you care to leave you name or email...Thank You!

T-shirt for best man

How forgetful me!! I actually concentrated on the bridesmaids t-shirt on the previous blog till I totally forgot to post the best men's one. Sorry for my mistake.

Here you go
The t-shirt might not look so good over here. But it sure does look nice on them. I can't wait for my photos to be out from my bridal shop. They should be ready for review end by end of this week but too bad, I'm not around at that time. So I'll have to be patient and wait for another week.....*sufferring*

"Just Married" Number Plate

What is that? Some would ask...and I'll be happily telling them, "Oh, it's those custom made plate with 'Just Married' wording tied at the back of wedding car. It's from Whizarts. The plate's is so lovely and you know what? I suggest you get one for your wedding too." That's how I will answer anyone who pop me with that question. Aren't this an absolute must for your bridal car? Or even just for remembrance?

Oh, they even have promo on this. Now for RM55, they are giving 2 mini plates for FREE.

But that was before I got the plate with my hand last night. The moment I was handed the plate, I immediately spot something that disturb me. They put this website wording at right hand corner. Did you see it in the picture above? No? I didn't either. Silly me for assuming there will not be any advertising wording from them. Don't know what I mean? Let me tell you. They cleverly put their brand on MY PLATE (read: my custom made plate). I paid for the plate but I didn't pay for them to advertise on my plate. I was a lil upset when I saw this. All this happen before I pay them. I thought maybe it's my fault for not seeing it properly on their website. Maybe it was there but I just missed it. So we just paid and leave.

However, the more I think about it, the more upset I become. I couldn't sleep that night. I kept thinking about the plate WITH the website on the corner. It looked like an advertising board. Not only I was not paid to advertise, I had to pay them for that. Actually it's not the matter of $$ but I felt cheated. I felt their website deceived us. I couldn't restrain myself anymore and even go to the extend of sms him to express my uneasiness. I query about the website and he politely reply saying it was their branding exercise and they couldn't remove it. They had put it in small font and minimal and hope that I don't mind. Of course I do mind. How can one don't mind their own property bearing other's advertisement? HELLO! I PAID FOR MY PROPERTY. I DON'T GET IT FOR FREE. They do give 2 free mini plates for promotion package. But that doesn't give them the right to advertise on the big one. Go ahead and put it on the small ones, I'll understand it.

This morning I sms him again. Naive me....thinking maybe they will care for customer satisfaction and will even express their gratitude for referencing them to my friends. Oh I was so wrong! They are willing to redo for me but with an extra fee of RM30 (read: 60% more). I mean this was not my fault. He did ask me to go over to see but if I were to be outstation, which my friend is, how can we see it in real? We have to make do with the samples on the website he referred us to. And from the website, it really didn't have the branding there. So are we suppose to know some kind of telepathy or six sense to know it's going to be there without him informing us? My friend's has yet to arrive as she's staying in KL and she paid additional RM8 for him to ship it over. She was furious too but she couldn't do anything yet cause she did not see it yet.

He even has the gut to say that so far, no customer has complaint about the branding. I think, probably they don't want to fuss over the small matter, unlike me. So they just accept with whatever they are given. And that makes him think he has the right to put it there? Do you know what he suggest? If I want, he can give me a strip of that paper to cover up. Is he pulling my leg? If I want, I can buy that same paper and do the whole thing again. That strap to cover up will make the whole thing not original anymore. I was so so silly to think he care bout customer satisfaction. Now I feel so guilty to encourage my friend to get one for herself. I don't know what else I can do since I've politely ask if he could do a new one without branding and he reject the idea. Either I pay or I bear with the current one. Sad to say, this is not what I expect from someone who call himself professional. Maybe he's professional in photography but not in customers satisfaction. He would rather save the cost of redoing the new one, make me (read: customer) happy and refer more customers to him than bear the cost himself and get more good mouth spreading. The cost is not as expensive as he stated. Hubs is in this industry too but he's just to busy to do it himself. Otherwise I won't even have to pay a cent for this.

I really believe there are more perfectionist out there with higher demand than me. Somehow, one day, someone like me or worst will confront him and maybe he'll say the same thing. Or do you think he'll stop putting his brand there after this?

I got to know that one client who engage him for actual day wedding dinner, requested him to take PS like photo for free and he agreed. That would have cost more than the tiny plate he has to redo for me. Sigh...maybe he spotted me as not the potential customer who is going to give him big business.

I'll upload my plate WITH the branding later, after I take picture of it. Soon.....

Do you think it was my fault or was their website's photo deceiving? Am I wrong to ask them to redo it for me without any extra charge?

BMs' T-shirt for outdoor photo shooting

We have hand delivered most of our favors to my bridesmaids and his best men. As promise on the earlier blog, here I am, giving a sneak peep into the t-shirt they are going to wear this Sunday. I'm so excited. This will the one and only time we are going to take the pre-wedding shoots and I got to wear wedding gowns!!! Did my excitement manage to spread to you? Only those Bride-to-be will sense it. The reason I'm getting them to be with me in the photo shooting is because they have been thru thick and thin with me. They know me inside out and have become part of my loved ones. Honestly, without them, I wouldn't have achieve who I am today....of course hubs played the biggest part. This is also the new style my bridal shop is offering (i mean to include others in the photos). Have you seen any third people in your wedding album? Apart from the little prince and princess you brought along cause of their cuteness? The first time I saw this style, I know I want to include them too. Call me copycat but if it's a good thing, why not?

I search high and low for the perfect t-shirt and I come across this cute Mr. Bean. Here's the front look.

Look what's written on the side....The back view.....
Don't you agree this is cute? So tempted to buy as it cost only RM10. The biggest problem is, it is FREE SIZE! Furthermore, it doesn't have the curve at the waist area. I'll probably look like a big tank. What more could I expect from my BM. They are all a size smaller than me (read: XS). So my mission is far from complete.

All that was before we bumped into hubs aunt in one of the stores. Coincidently her daughter, his cousin, also own a shop just upstairs. Without wasting any more time, we rushed there and I hungrily scan thru rack after rack of shirts. His cousin did recommend some to me but TOTALLY not the style I was looking for. Mine was the sporty type and at the same time, pretty. Hers was either way too cutie or sexy type. But I do manage to find one that I love so much. It's a normal one but with cute animals in front. And the most important thing, it's in white. The color or purity.

How is it? Nice?
Here's one with me wearing it.
You could see it fitted perfectly. So even my smallest size BM will not drown in it.....I'm pretty sure she will not. Will she? Hahaha.....I'll get to know the answer when they come for photo shooting this coming Sunday. We've prepared props to make the photos look livelier. Among them are kite, buble...oopps! Gonna seal my mouth for now till the photos are ready. Then I'll give a sneak peek too.

Are you going to include your bridesmaids and best men into your wedding album?

'Hei' punch from e-bay

At last I got the item from e-bay. All this while, I was afraid to buy anything from there even if I like them so much and the cost of it is oh-so cheap. My worries? Will it be safe to register using my credit card? Will they deliver the goods in good condition? Will my parcel lost in transition? But since I've started to do DIY for my wedding, those worries were put at the back of my mind. I was determine to get this punchie. It's so adorable and would be nice if I were to own one for my wedding DIY card. I search all the places in local and KL but I just couldn't find one.

There's a shop in 1-U which I love so much. They sell lotsa scrapbooking and DIY stuffs but they are so expensive. I mean ya, they are the only one who have the products but if you were to ask for the price, you will realise it cost a bomb to own something from there. Maybe others don't have that kinda experience, but I'm a person with discipline. I couldn't bring myself to spend so much on something like this. Sigh....I just had to walk a way with a heavy heart. When I came across this item from e-bay, I knew this is the ONE. It's waiting for me to sign up with paypal, e-bay and VOILA! With a click on the button, I bidded for this item at US$0.01. Can you imagine how cheap this is?? But then that's not all. Since it's not local, there's a small fee for shipping. Together with that is the insurance fee which is optional. However, during the payment, I realised that the insurance couldn't not be 'unchecked'. Meaning it was supposed to be incorporated into the payment too. Although I feel it's expensive, I just go along with it. No doubt I need it, since nowadays Mr. Postman has 'history'. So paying a lil more to get them to deliver it safely is better than having paid the goods but did not receive anything at all.

I was excited to receive them. The moment I reached home with the punch on my hand, I tried it on the red paper. I was petrified at first. It was not easy to work with. What am I talking? How to work with a punch? I meant the punch was not easy to press. I have to use my bull strength to push the button. Not only that, it wouldn't go all the way to cut like the normal punch. There are some part that were not totally cut causing it to jam a lil. Basically, I put all my weight onto my palm covering the button to get it to give a neat cut. I wasn't sure if it was due to worn out or it's the nature of the punch itself. It was stated in the website that it's brand new. So....Or probably due to the paper which is a lil thicker than those normal blank white A4.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the end product from the cutting. Here's some samples I did using the punch. Was quite exhausted and had a red palm while taking these shot.

One word of caution when using this punch is use whatever strength and make sure it cut thru to the end to get a good result.

Did you get anything from e-bay also? Are they working perfectly?

DIY card + favor for BMs

Here's our BIG PROJECT!! Previous blog I wrote about what favor I want to give my bridesmaid. I actually plan to do the t-shirt with wording "BRIDESMAID" on the front but we couldn't find the iron-on sticker plus nice plain t-shirt. Lucky us, we stumble upon a cute t-shirt with 6 lil animals on the front and immediately felt in love with it......maybe not us, but me alone. Hubs love it too but not as crazy about it as me. He knew I appreciated my friends (read: a lot) and he supported in whatever I plan to do for them. I'll post more on the t-shirts (for bridesmaid and best man) later, after I hand deliver all to our bestest BMs. These are all for the BMs who are going to be in our photo shooting also =)

I'm thankful that hubs was as excited as I am in making this DIY card. He got to do for his BMs and me for mine. We scouted around for the materials, papers from POPULAR RM10+, ribbon from Memory Lane RM2, and nets from Long Summer RM6 (Prangin Mall).

First, I made a sample for the dress and tuxedo. He's not good in arts...hehe...so he resort to cutting the brown and beige paper to form the frame layer. He does them without sweat while I'm still struggling with the cutting. Evil me, I made him cut out his BMs' tux. You could see it wasn't an easy job as the collars are a separate piece and they are tiny. There was a few time the collar's sample lost in his hand ( it's only 5% of his hand ). He had to search high and low for it.

At last, the dresses are done. The difficult part of this step is to get the net to stay fluffy while pinning the ribbon to the dress.

Ta-da! We did it. everything is glued to the card. The only thing left is the wording. You'll know what I mean in a second.

The master piece from hubs. He's so proud of it, he kept taking picture of them while mine is still far from complete.

Credit to hubs for putting the fullest effort and completed the cards successfully. So I load more of his workpiece, although there are many more I had to forgo. Too many to load. Sorry dear!

Here's mine for the ladies....

The complete pieces for 'Him' and 'Her' BM. We spend around 4hrs to get the cards done. You could see we really put in our heart, blood and sweat (erm....working in air-con room, so not much sweat I guess)

The 3D view of the gown. If only I had this gown for real for my BM. Budget constraint. Everything DIY and they have to self sponsor for their own white dress ..feel so bad bout it.

All the pieces put together. Due to reflection, the photo did not come out nice.

I know these do not look good. If I did not make them myself, I won't even know what the hell are they. Believe me, this is only part of the process.....

Now please put your hand together for the complete set.

A different angle makes them stand out like those models, don't you think so?

Presenting the lovely bridesmaid of the year...

*Phew!* All these are finally done. The total hours spend, I guaranteed not less than 10hours in total. There's not all. I've also included their name on the outside. Initially plan to put them on the t-shirt but was not confident enough. So ended up putting them on the cover instead. The wordings are not the normal one using pen, it's those 3D type whereby you can see and feel them.

*picture deleted*

What do you think? Does it look good? Would you spend so much time and effort in doing favors for your bridesmaid and best man?
